5 Tips for Using Twitter for Small Businesses

Brands are now using social media to make an impact both on society and most importantly to their own businesses. Twitter is one of the social media platforms, organizations are using to make an impact. Here are some tips you may use with Twitter to make a positive impact:

1.     Use Twitter Cards

2.     Build Your Followers

Twitter and other social media platforms are about targeting the right followers and keeping them engaged. At this level, it becomes easier to grow the number of followers, especially when using the right tools. Sometimes people can get caught up on trying to get as many followers as possible. However, in relation to Twitter and indeed all social media platforms, you are much better off having 100 engaged users who want to hear your message that 1000 users who are not really interested in what you have to say.

3.     Use Social Media Influencers

Influencers are people on social media with a large following. As a small business, engaging with influencers will likely earn you more followers, increase follower engagement and even generate more traffic for your website. This will, in turn, translate to more leads thus more sales.

4.     Twitter Lists for Managing Contact

Having a great number of followers makes your timeline feel overwhelming. Keeping track of important people and their tweets can become overwhelming hence the need for a Twitter list. You can use software like Hootsuite or TweetDeck which allows you to set up columns to follow tweets easily from your lists.

5.     Twitter Ads for Email List

An email list is people who have chosen to hear from you, therefore, great people to target with your Twitter ads. You could use Tailored Audiences to set up your ad and upload an email list. Twitter will match the email addresses with registered users and target them when you have something to promote.
